  • The forceful DIABLO BLVD formed in the dawn of 2005, with all members, past, present and future hailing from the city of Antwerp, Belgium. This band, DIABLO BLVD, named after a Corrosion Of Conformity song, lead by notorious stand-up comedian and above all music devotee Alex Agnew, quickly started to turn heads. With current and ex-members of bands like A Brand, Born From Pain and Meuris, this eclectic five-piece started playing shows to appreciative crowds all over Belgium and the Netherlands.
  • From the first note of their demo, a fresh take on heavy music was being developed, and the fans latched on in record time. Building on their groovy riffs, catchy choruses and a charismatic stage presence, DIABLO BLVD offers what made their heroes great and then some. With influences that pull from a wide range of staples in the heavy genre - from Danzig to The Cult, Guns ‘N Roses to Black Label Society – and songwriting with classic rock’n roll and old blues only one step away, DIABLO BLVD’s ability to absorb their musical surroundings and spit out something all their own is most impressive.
  • After a sold-out demo, Scarred and undefeated (DBA , 2006), the band worked more than 2 years on their upcoming debut-album called The Greater God (Pias 2009).
  • This album features even better song writing, catchier moments, a more distinct-sounding and above all Alex Agnew who’s unafraid to sing and scream if called for, reminiscing of Glenn Danzig’s and Ian Astbury’s vocal style while making it totally his own. Produced by one of Belgium’s most promising producers Ace Zec and mixed by Dutch veteran Oscar Holleman, this record was one of the most powerful rock albums of 2009. 
  • DIABLO BLDV broke new ground within the Belgian music scene while nipping at the heels of even the most evolved independent bands out there today.
  • The new album, entitled 'Builders of Empires' (release april 2011), has also been contracted by PIAS and will be produced once again by Ace Zec (Customs, The Setup), with Jens Bogren doing the mixing (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Grand Magus).
  • Builders of Empires will contain 10 tracks and promises to sound harder, more dynamic and more epic than any of DIABLO BLVD’s work so far.

  • DIABLO BLVD, genoemd naar een nummer van de band Corrosion of Conformity, kwam tot stand in 2005 toen vijf Antwerpse mannen met al ettelijke jaren muziekervaring op hun palmares zin hadden in iets nieuws. Tim Bekaert (A Brand) en Andries Beckers (Born from Pain, the Setup,...)  zochten elk een nieuwe uitdaging. Samen met comedian Alex Agnew, Dave Hubrechts en Kris Martens vormden ze de groep waarin al hun muzikale verlangens gegoten werden met een origineel resultaat tot gevolg. Invloeden van Danzig tot The Cult en van Guns ’N Roses tot Black Label Society sluiten naadloos aan bij de lyrics die zo weg geplukt kunnen worden uit de klassieke rock and roll en de blues. In combinatie met hun charismatische en energieke optredens lijdt het geen twijfel dat DIABLO BLVD in een mum van tijd een hele schare fans achter zich had staan.
  • Hun eerste demo Scarred & Undefeated in 2006 kon meteen op veel bijval rekenen bij zowel het Belgische als het Nederlandse publiek. De succesvolle demo bleek de voorbode te zijn van de eerste knetterende full cd The Greater God uit 2009 (PIAS). Op dit album werden alle registers opengetrokken en wordt de luisteraar meteen weggeblazen door de imponerende stem van Agnew. De plaat werd geproduced door aanstormend talent Ace Zec en gemixt door een Nederlandse oude rot in het vak Oscar Holleman. De cd werd met veel enthousiaste en lovende kritieken onthaald bij zowel de gespecialiseerde pers als bij het grote publiek. Aanvragen voor optredens op festivals en concerten bleven dan ook niet lang uit.
  • DIABLO BLVD speelde het afgelopen jaar op o.a. Graspop en Pukkelpop waar duizenden mensen volledig uit hun dak gingen. Dat DIABLO BLVD kan entertainen als geen ander en een enorme aantrekkingskracht op zijn publiek uitoefent, heeft uiteraard veel te maken met frontman Alex Agnew – een niet te versmaden comedy icoon. Maar nog meer met het doel van de hele groep om datgene aan hun publiek te geven wat ze zelf gekregen hebben van hun eigen muzikale helden.
  • Het nieuwe album, dat Builders of Empires zal heten, release april 2011, komt uit bij PIAS en wordt opnieuw geproducet door Ace Zec (Customs, The Setup). De mixing neem Jens Bogren voor zijn rekening (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Grand Magus). 
  • Builders of Empires zal bestaan uit 10 tracks en belooft nog epischer, dynamischer en harder te klinken.
